SERIOUS WARNING: This location is not for the faint-hearted.

If you have NEVER been on an investigation before or you have *Nyctophobia (a fear of the dark) then we strongly advise you NOT to book this location

*Nyctophobia is a phobia characterized by an acute fear of the darkness. It is triggered by the mind’s disfigured perception of what would or could happen when in a dark environment.

The infamous and mysterious Drakelow Tunnels have a very interesting past and are a historical monument to the military history of the UK.

As you step through the nuclear blast doors, the darkness closes in and you start to feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end……. Join us at this fantastic Semi-Exclusive Location

Deep inside the tunnels, built in the late 1930s, are the original offices, which housed hundreds of workers.

The Drakelow Tunnels are a former underground military complex, set deep in the Kinver hills, beneath the Kingsford Country Park on the border between Worcestershire and Staffordshire, covering at least 3 1/2 miles long.

Designed by Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners, the Drakelow Tunnel Complex (originally called “Drakelow Underground Dispersal Factory”) was excavated by hand, during World War II after the blasting of the sandstone hills.

They are the largest surviving part of a wartime complex which was built in 1941 as a “shadow factory” for Birmingham’s Rover works until c 1955. The purpose of such “shadow factories” was to provide secure manufacturing facilities for aero engines; this would be used in the event of cataclysmic enemy bombing of industrial targets or even in the event of invasion.

The tunnels contained dormitories, storage areas, workshops, electrical equipment, toilets, offices, a BBC studio, a GPO Telephones communications facility and other facilities. Remnants of these can still be seen today.

By the 1950s however the Cold War presented government planners
with a completely new use for the vast tunnel system and after 1958 the underground complex was converted to a Regional Seat of Government (RSG). Between 1958 and 1980 it was a RSG and then a Regional Government Headquarters until 1993, where it was decommissioned and sold.

Since then, owners have changed many times over the years and as they begin to start a new era, the UKSS are lucky to be one of a handful of groups to be allowed access to the Tunnels

We recently visited the Tunnels and after 2 hours, only managed to see a 1/4 of the area.

Whilst there, we heard loud bangs, footsteps, had the feeling of being followed, saw dark shadows, heard whispering and music!

We also heard traffic noise, which is not possible, considering at the time we were in the deepest part of the tunnels.

This is a location that is well worth the effort to visit.

Sensible footwear and good torches are a must.
Also due to no electricity, we are unable to provide refreshments at this time.

Places are Limited for this Location and are on a first come first served basis.
